U.S. District Court, Northern District of Alabama (No. 2:24-cr-00485, Judge Anna Marie Manasco). Wisam Sharieff pleaded guilty in June 2025 to conspiracy to engage in sexual exploitation of children, conspiracy to receive and distribute child pornography, and sexual exploitation of children. He was sentenced to 960 months (80 years) in federal prison plus a life term of supervised release, and ordered to pay a $135,000 special assessment under the AVAA. Court documents state Sharieff told his co-defendant that achieving sexual pleasure could improve Quran recitation and bring a person closer to Allah, and that in October 2024 the pair coerced a seven-year-old child to engage in sexually explicit conduct to produce child pornography.
