Tawanda Shumba, a self-styled prophet at the Nyenyedzi Nomwe Shrine in Mkoba 4, Gweru, was sentenced on 18 June 2026 to fifteen years for the rape of a twenty-two-year-old woman lured to a 'spiritual cleansing' ceremony on 4 June 2026.
