Hanafi Hassan, 64, pleaded guilty at the Pasir Mas Sessions Court to nine charges of physically sexually assaulting three male students aged 9 to 11, committed in mosque bathrooms and a barbershop storeroom around Tanah Merah between May 2023 and December 2025. Sentenced to nine years' imprisonment and three strokes of the cane, plus mandatory counselling and three years' post-release police monitoring.
