   Judecătoria Aleșd, later Tribunalul Bihor, Romania. Valentin Borbel was detained for 24 hours on continuous sexual assault charges against a minor who was 10 years old when the abuse began in 2023; the abuse continued for roughly two years before coming to the attention of authorities in February 2025. The Oradea Court declined a preventive-arrest request but placed him under 60-day judicial control with a no-contact order covering the victim and witnesses. The investigation, opened at the Aleșd prosecutor's office, was transferred to the Bihor County Tribunal's prosecutor's office. Borbel was subsequently sent to trial and the Tribunal Bihor rejected his appeal against continued judicial control.
