Tribunale di Catanzaro (trial), Corte d'Appello di Catanzaro (appeal), Corte di Cassazione, Terza Sezione (final), Italy. Don Roberto Mastro, parish priest of Belcastro until he abruptly left the parish in December 2010, was convicted of sexually abusing approximately seventeen minors of his parish between 2007 and 2010. He was sentenced to thirteen years and six months at first instance, reduced to eleven years and six months on appeal, plus interdiction from public office and restitution to victims. On 25 September 2025 the Third Section of the Court of Cassation declared his defence's appeal inadmissible, making the conviction final.
