Olivier de Scitivaux, rector of the Notre-Dame de Cléry basilica (2013-2018) and a priest of the Diocese of Orléans who had also served at church-run vacation camps including one in Perros-Guirec (Côtes-d'Armor), was convicted of hundreds of counts of rape and aggravated sexual assault against four boys and sentenced to 17 years' criminal imprisonment. He initially appealed but withdrew the appeal in early 2025, making the sentence final without a retrial.
