    Women and Child Repression Tribunal-5, Chattogram, Bangladesh. Judge Saidur Rahman Gazi convicted Mo. Ismail, 46, a teacher in the Huffaz (Quran-memorization) department of a madrasa in Lohagara's Charambar area, of raping a 12-year-old student on 26 September 2022. Sentenced to death, plus a fine of one lakh taka (with a further year's imprisonment in default of payment). The madrasa administration surrendered the teacher to police after the assault came to light.
