Confidence Monyela, 39, leader of the Prophet Ministry Church at Mariveni near Letsitele, was convicted on 31 July 2025 of multiple rapes and sexual assault of church ushers aged between fourteen and seventeen during evening 'private prayer' sessions, having told them that sex with him transferred the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit would kill them if they disclosed. He received two life sentences plus a concurrent term of decades.
