Achmad Labib, head of Ponpes Irsyadul Mubtadi'ien in Magelang regency, was sentenced on 3 February 2025 to 15 years plus restitution for sexually abusing four santriwati between December 2022 and March 2024; the Central Java high court affirmed the 15-year sentence on appeal, the court finding he had misused his position and the trust placed in him.
