Wesler Gilmar Reyes Florián, an evangelical pastor, was sentenced in January 2024 to 33 years for aggravated sexual assault of a minor; the Quetzaltenango femicide-and-sexual-violence tribunal found he exploited the trust and power asymmetry of his pastoral role on at least four occasions.
