Dunleavy was convicted across three separate trials of a total of 72 non-recent sexual-abuse offences — including indecent assault, attempted buggery and gross indecency — against 18 boys aged seven to fourteen, committed between 1964 and 1991 at four Christian Brothers schools in Belfast, Newry and Armagh where he taught and served as principal.
