    Bolivian Ministerio Público, Santa Cruz department. An anonymous letter to the Defensoria de la Ninez y Adolescencia of Cabezas, Santa Cruz, denouncing sexual assaults triggered a criminal investigation. One accused admitted that he and three other men used sedative sprays to incapacitate victims before raping them. Two suspects, Isaak M.P. (20) and Jacob D.W. (40), were jailed at Palmasola pending investigation on aggravated-rape charges; the Ministerio Publico said further victims and perpetrators are not ruled out. This is the third documented case of this pattern in Mennonite colonies, following Manitoba, Bolivia (2019, 151 victims) and the Belice/Las Piedras colonies (2022, at least 12 victims).
