Reports the Ikeja Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence Court sentenced Muslim cleric Alani Rafiu to life imprisonment for defiling a 14-year-old girl inside a mosque in Ikotun on 17 August 2021. States the judge held that the gravity of the offence could not be overstated as Rafiu 'betrayed the trust placed on him as a religious instructor and family friend', that he deliberately isolated the victim, exploited her vulnerability and paid her to buy silence; the victim's testimony described three separate incidents.
