Stanislav Moskvitin, pastor of the 'New Creation' church in Omsk, was convicted in 2023 of psychological violence against congregants — inducing trance states through hypnosis during services, affecting adepts including children — and of obtaining savings from around a hundred congregants. He received a year and a half in a general-regime colony; in August 2023 the Omsk Oblast Court converted the sentence to a suspended term and released him. He did not admit guilt.
