Researchers identified 122 priests and deacons accused of violence against 349 documented victims from 1945 to the present, with concrete indications of at least 60 further victims, giving a confirmed minimum of over 400. The final report confirmed the interim report's September 2022 finding of duty violations by diocesan leadership. Bishop Franz-Josef Bode resigned early in March 2023, citing the findings among his reasons.
