The Larnaca District Court convicted the former Bishop of Kiti of indecently assaulting a 16-year-old girl in 1981, while he held the post of bishop, and imposed a 12-month suspended sentence — reported as the first criminal conviction of a senior Orthodox cleric in Cyprus.
