Freddie Sernadilla, pastor of the Wenceslao Christian Fellowship, raped a fourteen-year-old member of his church inside the pastoral house in October 2004. Convicted by the trial court in 2008 and affirmed by the Court of Appeals in 2011, the Supreme Court affirmed the rape conviction on 21 September 2022 — reclusion perpetua plus ₱225,000 in damages — while acquitting on two related child-protection counts.
