North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Office of Attorney General. Investigators reviewed substantiated diocesan complaints, interviewed victims and pursued new leads. Of 53 previously unprosecuted individuals, all but two had died before or during the investigation. Prosecutors found probable cause that could have supported charges against the two survivors, but the applicable limitations periods had expired.
