The Jesuit province of Spain published a report acknowledging 118 cases of sexual abuse committed by 96 of its members since 1927 — 81 victims were minors and the remainder adults — describing this as the first such order-wide accounting by a Spanish Catholic religious order. Of the 65 Jesuits who had abused minors, 48 had died; of the 17 living, four had left the Jesuits and the rest were barred from ministry or moved to supervised communities pending proceedings.
