New South Wales District Court, Australia. Anthony William Peter Caruana, a priest of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart who served as dormitory manager, rugby coach and band teacher at Chevalier College, a Catholic boarding school at Burradoo near Bowral, was found guilty by a jury of 23 charges (22 counts of indecent assault and four counts of sexual intercourse with a pupil) for abusing twelve students in his care between 1982 and 1988. On 10 December 2021 he was sentenced to fifteen years' imprisonment with a ten-year non-parole period, at age 80.
