    Independent legal report commissioned by the Diocese of Aachen. The Munich law firm Westpfahl Spilker Wastl published its report on 12 November 2020, covering the period 1965-2019. It documented evidence of abuse against 175 victims, most boys aged 8-14, and identified 81 accused clergy including two deacons. The report found personal co-responsibility among several former Aachen bishops and vicars general, including Bishop Klaus Hemmerle and Bishop Heinrich Mussinghoff, for reassigning known abusers.
