    Sessions Court, Kuantan; Court of Appeal, Putrajaya. Tengku Mohammad Khaireel Tengku Wahab, 32, warden of a tahfiz centre, was convicted on 1 December 2020 of two counts of physical sexual assault against an 11-year-old male student and sentenced to ten years and two strokes. On 17 July 2025 the Court of Appeal in Putrajaya unanimously upheld the conviction and sentence, calling the offending 'a disgusting betrayal'.
