District Court of New South Wales. Wade, convicted by judge-alone trial of three counts of indecent assault against a pupil at Marist Brothers High School, Kogarah in 1980, was sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment with a 9-month non-parole period.
2018-05-11 · conviction and sentence appeal

Supreme Court of New South Wales, Court of Criminal Appeal. Wade v R [2018] NSWCCA 85: leave to appeal against both conviction and sentence granted, but both appeals dismissed. The Court held the judge-alone trial verdicts were not unreasonable and the sentence, which took into account that Wade's breach of trust was aggravated by his position as school principal, was not manifestly excessive.
