Nova Scotia Provincial Court, Yarmouth. Albert LeBlanc, 83, a priest in the Diocese of Yarmouth from 1955 to 1973, pleaded guilty to six counts of indecent assault against children dating to when he was a priest in Yarmouth County in the 1970s, and was sentenced to five and a half years' imprisonment in November 2012. He had faced 40 charges initially, alleging abuse of children as young as seven, and was accused of enticing underage victims with alcohol. He resigned the priesthood in 1973.
