Fr Anton Kmet was convicted of groping two girls on the chest and buttocks during confirmation-preparation classes and sentenced to ten months' imprisonment. The Higher Court in Maribor confirmed the sentence in March 2011, making it final; he served the term. He was dismissed from the priesthood (laicised) in 2021, a decision confirmed by the Vatican's Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
