Larimer County District Court, Colorado, USA. A Larimer County jury convicted Timothy Joseph Evans on three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust; the pattern of abuse spanned three victims in Jefferson and Larimer counties from roughly 1990 to 2003 while he served at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Fort Collins. He was sentenced to 14 years to life, laicized by the Vatican while imprisoned, and paroled in 2020. Colorado's independent 2019 review of clergy abuse identified him as the only priest tried and convicted of sexual assault in the state since the 2002 scandal broke.
