Gerald Mathieu Moran, a boys' supervisor at the Oblate-run Kamloops and St. Mary's Indian Residential Schools during the 1950s and 1960s, was convicted on twelve counts of sexual abuse following a multi-year RCMP investigation. He was 78 years old at trial and was sentenced to three years' imprisonment; he had been living as a monk in a Saskatchewan monastery at the time of his arrest.
