Tyolo admitted that he came to believe his aunt had bewitched his seriously ill brother, named her as a witch during a traditional ceremony, decided to kill her, invited her to stay at his residence as part of that plan, and killed her there. The court found that the witchcraft suspicion was the only reason for the murder and separately convicted him under the Witchcraft Suppression Act.
