Spain's Supreme Court upheld a Nigerian trafficking ring's convictions — the ringleader given 20 years — in a case where the coercion was explicitly voodoo. [English: The accused used 'voodoo-yuyu rituals' involving 'a mixture of bodily fluids, hair, and blood from the sacrifice of an animal such as a hen' to impose 'pressure, submission and the breaking of the will' on the victims, who feared that they or their families would suffer 'physical or mental illness, or even death' if they disobeyed.]
