The conviction establishes child-pornography offenses and Klein's religious office, but the available record does not establish that Wiccan doctrine or spiritual authority materially enabled those offenses, so the case is retained as context.

Neopaganism's most prominent conviction, reported by the Pagan community's own press: 'An Orleans Parish jury found musician and Blue Star priest Kenny Klein guilty of child pornography charges' — 'one count of pornography involving a juvenile under the age of 13, and 19 counts of possession with intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles under the age 17.' Klein had been a founding elder of the Blue Star tradition of Wicca for decades. That the community's own journalists covered the trial gavel-to-gavel is a mark in the community's favor — the same internal accountability this survey's conclusions call for everywhere.
