Tribunal de Justiça de Santa Catarina, 4ª Câmara Criminal (Des. Zanini Fornerolli). A ninety-year-old pastor and benzedeiro was convicted of estupro de vulnerável against a seven-year-old child whose family had received him in their home in his healing capacity. On appeal in 2019 the Santa Catarina high court increased his sentence from eight years to nine years and four months.
