The defendant, anonymised in the published judgment as ФИО1, was convicted of fraud causing significant damage to a citizen under ч.2 ст.159 of the Criminal Code. The court found that on 17 July 2018 between 14:20 and 14:30, in the street, she obtained 10,001 roubles from the victim by deception under the pretext of removing a curse and improving the victim's financial position, and left with the money. The case was heard in the special procedure on the defendant's application, made after consultation with defence counsel, she being in full agreement with the charge. She was sentenced to one year four months' deprivation of liberty to be served in a colony-settlement, travelling there independently at state expense, the term to run from the day of her arrival.
