Agus Basuki was convicted on 28 May 2013 under Article 340 of the criminal code and the child-protection law, and sentenced to life imprisonment, for murdering three clients of his money-multiplication scheme — Giantoro, Retno Sugiharti and their eleven-year-old daughter Tania — with potassium-laced ritual drinks after the scheme failed.
