Tarashcha District Court, Kyiv Oblast, Ukraine (Таращанський районний суд Київської області). Two defendants, anonymised in the published judgment as ОСОБА_8 and ОСОБА_11, were each convicted of fraud committed by prior conspiracy under part 2 of article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The first was sentenced to one year six months' deprivation of liberty and the second to two years six months, both remaining in custody with their terms running from 24 February 2011, and damages were awarded against them jointly and severally in favour of the victims. The court found that on 21 May 2010 the two reached a criminal agreement by telephone to obtain property by deception and abuse of confidence in Kyiv Oblast; that the following morning one travelled to the other's home where 'they jointly drew up a plan of their criminal activity'; and that the same day they travelled by taxi to the village of Lisovychi in Tarashcha District and entered the home of a married couple 'under the pretext of a rite of divination and the removal of a curse'.

The full text of the criminal judgment, read directly from Ukraine's Unified State Register of Court Decisions. The court records that the two defendants «по телефону досягли злочинної змови на заволодіння чужим майном шляхом обману та зловживанням довірою»; that the next morning one «прибула до місця проживання [іншої]... де спільно склали план своєї злочинної діяльності»; and that the same day they «на невстановленому слідством автомобілі "Таксі" прибули в с. Лісовичі Таращанського району у домоволодіння подружжя», entering «під приводом обряду ворожіння та зняття порчі». The operative part convicts both under ч.2 ст.190 КК України, imposing one year six months and two years six months' deprivation of liberty respectively, with terms running from 24 February 2011 and damages awarded jointly and severally.
